If you’re working with a limited budget, you can use OpenOffice from OpenOffice (dot) org. This is a good program and will producing similar results compared with Microsoft Office.
Your Internet connection selections will be controlled by your home office location and local providers. This can vary from a dial-up connection to a fast cable hook-up. Again, you do not need to pay for the best, fastest connection possible. You might work a deal with a neighbor’s Wi-Fi connection if they will lend you the password. Use a connection that will fit your budget.
A good ink-jet printer is a handy tool but only needed for hard copy of documents for a client or personal use. The main overhead cost for any printer is the ink. New prices start at $50 and go up. Many times on lower cost units, the price of replacement ink is almost equal to the original sale price of the printer. Only print what you need and save a few bucks.
Email accounts can be setup free from many providers. Microsoft’s Hotmail, Google’s Gmail are just a few of the popular examples. A work area and desk are just plain handy. You will need a general location to do your work and pile notes and miscellaneous business items. If you can setup your area with a view to a window it does help. The natural lighting is healthy and helps while brainstorming will help keep you active and relaxed at the same time. Writer’s block and becoming brain-dead can happen at any time. Create a relaxed atmosphere and work in as much comfort as your budget or location will allow.
A coffee cup is handy to, no matter if you drink coffee, tea, juice or water. You need to keep hydrated to keep the brain juices flowing. Maintain Your Interest and Creativity
Keep interested in what you are doing. Working until your output is almost zero and drool is running out of the corner of your mouth will not help in the long run. Get up and leave your work area, take a brisk walk and clear out the head. No matter what job you are working at you need to keep the enthusiasm level up to produce good results. If you want to work late into the night, do it. Are you a morning person, then make the best use of the early morning time.
